The program currently sponsors a competitive wheelchair basketball team that travels across the country competing against other universities and community teams. For information about the Adaptive Sports and Fitness/Recreation program at the University of Oklahoma or IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BEING A PARTICIPANT IN COLLEGIATE WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL, contact Garry Armstrong. (gmoney@ou.edu or 405-325-3053.) OU wheelchair basketball is needing for players for the 2008-09 season.

The Wheelchair Basketball team has completed the schedule for the 2007-08 season. With a record of 11-6 in the regular season, the OU team looking confident toward a chance at a conference champoinship. The program looks forward to 2008-09 as players progress towards being a competitor in the Collegiate Division of the NWBA. With new additions and growing numbers of players, the OU Wheelchair Basketball team is primed for a great season.

 

The Adaptive Sports and Fitness/Recreation program at the University of Oklahoma offers sports, fitness, and recreational activities to students with disabilities. Tennis, Pickleball, Badminton, & Table Tennis are offered as Intramural Events for all students.

 

 

Fund Raising Opportunities

The Adaptive Sports and Fitness/Recreation Program like to do joint fundraisers with public school athletic programs to raise funds for the schools and the wheelchair basketball team. The program also accepts donations from individuals and businesses. All donations are tax deductible.
